DARE TO DANCE
2008 Bay Dutch Warmblood Mare
(Farrington x Wisteria by Odilon)

Dare to Dance (Dixie) is a handsome, 17 hh registered Dutch mare by Farrington. Dixie is a very sweet mare and very willing, not at all mareish. She is lovely to ride with smooth gaits that are easy to sit to. She is lovely to ride with smooth gaits that are easy to sit to. She is a real people horse who loves attention and tries to please. She is started under saddle and does not need consistent riding. She is easy to work with, even when given time off.

Dixie’s sire, Farrington, produces offspring with a willing character and 3 excellent strong gaits. In his stallion test in Holland he received 8 for his basic gaits and 9 for temperament. His offspring are competing successfully in dressage proven by his high dressage index and successful participation of various progeny at the Pavo Cup. Unfortunately due to a leg fracture at the age of 5, Farrington was unable to compete. Farrington’s dam sire is the famous dressage stallion, Doruto, who sired many top dressage horses including Olympic Barbria, Chevalier, Ideaal, etc. Farrington’s sire, Wellington, is well known as a producer of quality movement and successful dressage competitors such as Bollvorms Ceylon and Luxaflex.

Dixie's dam, Wisteria, was a very sweet, pretty Dutch mare with a lovely temperament. She was by the imported Dutch stallion, Odilon. Odilon is by the well known Dutch Dressage Stallion, Inspekteur (by Darwin) who won the dressage component of his stallion testing scoring 9’s in Behaviour, Character, & Trot. Inspekteur also won many championships & European medals. At the Young Riders under Marlies van Baalen they were always at the top, twice with gold and once with silver. Inspekteur is known for producing exceptional movement and passing on his wonderful temperament. Odilon has been shown in dressage very successfully in Florida at Young Riders and has also been shown successfully by his owner in Prix St. George in Alberta, Canada. Odilon also passes on his wonderful temperament to his offspring and there are a lot of them in the dressage & hunter rings. One of Odilon's youngsters was bought by Leslie Reid, Canadian Olympic dressage competitor.
